Job Description Summary:
The P2P and Remittance Risk Strategy team is at the front line of identifying and targeting fraud to keep tens of millions of PayPal users secure and engaged. Together, we are accountable for the logical and statistical solutions that detect, prevent, and mitigate financial risk in real time across PayPal's person-to-person products and payment flows. We are looking for a new Technical Lead Risk Analyst to join us and lead a group of seasoned Risk Analysts.
Job Description:
Responsibilities:

• Analyze data covering a wide range of information from user profile to transaction history. Identify new fraud patterns and deploy solutions to secure revenue and loss targets.
• Responsible of mentoring and developing the capabilities of Risk Analysts on the team ( e.g. business acumen, navigating and influencing the team, storytelling, analytic solution development, solution integration).

• Advise leadership and other stakeholders on the implications of risk data for products, processes, and decisions .
• Plan, create and automate professional and effective near real-time monitoring reports with emphasis on readability and visualization using tools such as Tableau .
• Develop and document policies and best practice frameworks setting standards for core business segments and processes .

Functional Skills:

• Advanced knowledge in rule- writing systems, development and implementation of complex decision frameworks .
• Solid knowledge of internal and external business processes and data, system and flows, as well as analytical tools, processes and methodologies in their work domain such as clust ering, genetic algorithms, etc..
• Technical collaboration with other research scientists, engineers and product managers to create innovative, technical solutions.
• Ability to solve complex business problems through root cause data and behavioral analysis, using findings to develop user stories and solutions. Deliveries in this space are an automated decision layer that approve /decline /screen transactions in real-time .

Minimum Requirements:

• Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience in Risk/Consumer-behavior companies
• Strong technical skills in Tableau, SQL , Excel/Power BI
• Candidate must be detail-oriented with excellent analytical and quantitative skills
• Demonstrated ability to apply innovative and resourceful solutions to solve challenges and the ability to meet detailed project goals while working autonomously

• Must have excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to clearly organize thoughts and/or document content and convey complex concepts effectively regardless of audience
